Dr. Josef Černohlávek studied in 1988 - 1993 Law faculty of the Charles University in Prague and after graduation worked as a junior lawyer.
He became an attorney at law and a member of the Czech Bar Association 1996 and since 1998 he has been practicing his own legal praxis in the law firm Ürge & Černohlávek.

He is focused on:

- Commercial law
- Real estate law
- Arbitration
- Banking law
- Civil litigation, especially disputes connected to contracts on work
- Insolvency law
- Mergers and acquisitions

Dr. Josef Černohlávek is also an arbitrator and is registered on the list of arbitrators of the following permanent arbitration courts:
- Arbitration Court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic,
- VIAC - Vienna International Arbitral Centre.

Dr. Josef Černohlávek speaks German and English and is a member of the following international organizations:
- INSOL Europe (an international organization of insolvency practitioners),
- Austrian Arbitration Association (an organization supporting the arbitration).

He Published articles focused on law e.g. in the newspaper "Lidové noviny" and journals "Právní rádce" and "Bulletin advokacie".
